Terms & Conditions

INTRODUCTION

These terms and conditions apply to all services offered by Beyond Athens.

By making a booking with us you confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

In these terms and conditions:

“we” or “us” or “our” means Beyond Athens, “you” means the “Participant” any person taking part in the tour.

The prices are in Euros.

In case of a Payment through Paypal, the full amount of the transaction cost is to be covered by you.

RESCHEDULING, CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS BY BEYOND ATHENS

We expect to be able to provide you with all the services we have confirmed. However given the nature of our tours, you are expected to be flexible and accommodate the possibility of alternative arrangements having to be made, even at the last minute and without prior notice. Please note that itineraries are a guide only and may be subject to change. In the vast majority of cases any changes will be regarded by us as minor changes. However, if we consider them a “Significant Change” we will advise you as soon as possible. A Significant Change includes, by way of example, a significant change of destination arising otherwise than as a result of circumstances beyond our control.

In the case of a Significant Change before the tour we will provide you with three alternatives:

alternative arrangements of equivalent or of very closely similar standard and price, if available, or

alternative arrangements of a lower standard together with a refund of the difference in price; or

cancellation of the tour with a full refund of all monies paid.

All booking requests must be made according to the advance notice required for each tour/package/ activity/ event. In any case, the minimum advance notice is 24 hours. Beyond Athens may occasionally and under certain circumstances show some flexibility with the prior notice requirement but also decline some request even when the notice requirement is met.

Bookings of day tours are confirmed upon receipt of the full tour rate. Bookings of multi-day trips, special interest tours, custom trips are confirmed by Beyond Athens in written form, when minimum participation is met if required, and upon receipt of a 50% down payment on the agreed total fee. Full payment shall be completed before the holiday/tour/activity/event starts. When a booking is made on a date close to the last possible date for bookings, it is advised that the whole amount is paid in a single transaction.

All payments are made by cash (under 500 € of total charge), POS (VISA/ MASTERCARD) via an online secure payment link, PayPal or Stripe transfer or wire bank transfer to the following accounts: Ethniki Trapeza – National Bank of Greece, Andreas Kallinis, Account no.: 677/400501/57, IBAN GR9101106770000067740050157, SWIFT: ETHNGRAA  or Piraeus Bank, Andreas Kallinis, Account no. 5167075835019 IBAN GR0601721670005167075835019 SWIFT: PIRBGRAA and EuroBank: GR5202602220000890100908844.

Rates can change according to the number of participants, period of the year and other conditions. Such changes are communicated by Beyond Athens in advance and prior to the booking.

Personal medical/ accident insurance cover is NOT provided unless expressly stated. Standard insurance can be offered for an extra amount to be determined case by case.

Tour prices and schedules can change due to unpredictable external factors such as increases in the VAT and in the admission tickets at historic sites and museums, or changes in the prices and timetables of ferries. Beyond Athens claims its right to cover such increases or ask the clients to pay the differential. Any change in the tour schedule and time will be communicated as early as possible.

Beyond Athens is covered by Allianz with liability insurance (link): Extra provisions (private medical insurance, VIP limo or van, professional tour guide etc.) not specified in the tour/package/activity description bear an extra charge.

Tours, packages and activities are subject to change for safety or operational reasons. This can entail a reduction or increase of the original rate that will be duly communicated by Beyond Athens before the booking of the product of choice.

By purchasing and taking part in some of Beyond Athens tours and activities, the client agrees that Beyond Athens can later use photographic material inherent to such tour or activity for exclusively own’s advertising, promotion and visibility material.  When kids are portrayed, we will expressly ask for the parents’/ caretaker consent beforehand.

By registering, using our services and/or providing your e-mail address, you consent to receive regular e-mail updates from Beyond Athens about the website, our news, travel and other community-related topics. Each e-mail you receive shall contain a mandatory opt out at the bottom to allow you to unsubscribe from the mailing list.

Activities and tours may not be confirmed or cancelled due to force majeur, illness or unavailability of the personnel or premises involved. Should the activity/tour be cancelled due to force majeur causes, bad weather or sudden illness, it will be postponed to another date agreed upon by the parties. In case the activity cannot take place due to reasons ascribed to BeyondAthens, full refund will be processed within 60 calendar days.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations of planned tours and activities are communicated via fax or e-mail to BeyondAthens (info@beyondathens.net) and the following conditions apply, unless differently stated/ agreed:

For multi-day trips, special interest and custom trips, and corporate events:

>30 days prior to the planned tour or trip start date : 50% penalty fee

<30 days 75% penalty fee

< 14 days before the booked date/ No show: 100% penalty fee

For day tours:

>14 days prior to the planned tour/ activity/event: No penalty fees

<14 days 50% penalty fee

Within 24 hours/No show 100% penalty fee

For the scheduled video calls, the following applies:

If you need to reschedule the call, no worries, you have up to 3 times the chance to do so at no extra cost.

From the 4th time and up that you will need to reschedule, a +20% surcharge will apply.

Up to 7 days before the video call cancellation are penalty-free.

For cancellations from 7 days to 24 hours before the video call, a 50% penalty fee applies.

For cancellations within 24 hours from the video call, and no-shows, a 100% penalty fee applies.

Beyond Athens may always decide to agree on a smaller cancellation penalty fee to be decided on a case-to-case basis.

Sailboats, motor yachts, motor sailers and sea ribs rentals and trips are non-refundable, unless otherwise stated.

COMPENSATION AND LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITY TO YOU

If the tour you have booked fails to be provided by us or our suppliers we will pay you compensation.

Our liability to you shall be limited to a maximum of the cost payable to us by you for your tour. Compensation will be paid within thirty (30) days following the date the tour was scheduled for.

We will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the tour is due to:

you; or

a third party unconnected with the provision of the tour arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or

unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall. These include unavoidable technical problems with transport, war or threat of war, civil strife, strikes, demonstrations, industrial disputes, natural disaster, bad weather, epidemic or terrorist activity.

INSURANCE POLICY

Allianz Hellas Insurance Company S.A. certifies that “Beyond Athens” is insured by our Company against Third party Liability for Bodily Injuries or Death (including compensation for pain and suffering, moral distress) or Material Damage to third parties, which may occur during organized activities in Greece by the insured and which are caused by negligent acts or negligent omissions of the insured, according to the terms and conditions of our policy No 20039233.

It is also covers Bodily Injuries or Death caused by food poisoning during Cooking Courses organized by the insured.

“Beyond Athens” is not responsible or liable for loss, damage or theft of luggage or personal belongings, illness, disappointments or frustrations while on tour, nor is “Beyond Athens” responsible for any type of trip interruption due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances To avoid charges for cancellation due to covered reasons, we highly recommend the purchase of comprehensive trip insurance.

Beyond Athens will not be held responsible for the services of other companies.

PERSONAL INSURANCE

Personal insurance is not included. It is your responsibility to take out appropriate travel insurance. Although “Beyond Athens” and its representatives will always strive to ensure safe and enjoyable completion of its tours they cannot be held responsible for the personal safety of participants. Each participant shall be fully responsible for his/her personal health, medical needs and safety.
